Jim Morlino – Soundless Music

49.00 / Sold Out

M/M Sealed Deadstock LPs

Private press album never ever seen, heard or sold before paradiseisafrequency dug it up from outskirts of forgotten history. Been amazed by it for a long long time. I yet did not know what an unique story is going to be revieled! And yet it is still not fully revieled!

"Call me tonight! There’s a pretty cool story about that LP I'd be happy to share with you". That's my first contact with Jim Morlino. Still in ignorance I called Jim. "It is not my album. I did not make it. I was just a hired gun. I know nothing about the album." These were the first words Jim told me on the phone. We spent chatting for a few hours deep into night in Bratislava.

Turns out there was a person called Timothy Reid who came from Brooklyn to San Diego. Asked around for a good singer. In a church saw Jim singing and hired him to be the main vocals. Used all his saved money to hire already well known producer Ken Robertson. And paid Ken to hire a full band, orchestra and around 15-20 studio musicians. Lyrics, music, arrangements all were made by Tim. All the musicians were hired guns who just orchestred the thing together under the hands of Ken Robertson.

Since Jim did an amazing job on the vocals all through the album. Tim asked him to be the main name and main face of the album. Took pictures of him and then disappeared. After few months Jim got some copies mailed from Brooklyn. And never met Tim again.

The album is dedicated to Lorraine. Makes it look as if Lorraine was a love of Jim. In fact Lorraine was a Tim's younger sister who tragically died as a 4 years old.

I always though I will just review how good this album is. And how professional despite being private press. But the story is just so mysterious and so over and beyond. That I can't think about anything else.

Where is Timothy now? Did he work on anything else after? Why he put so much effort in to the album and yet did not want to be credited or mentioned. Putting years and years
