This 1979 self-produced album by the British group PGRS was produced with the concept of music with two polar opposite qualities: the exploration of improvisational expression and practical broadcast background music for specific situations and purposes. The mastermind behind this was the eccentric Paul Ramsay, who creates visuals based on radical art strategies modeled on the avant-garde art movement of the 1960s, and works on building systems for generating uncertain music using algorithms. From concrete depictions such as the breathing of a cross-country runner to abstract acoustic abstract paintings, this album is a total of 13 library music variations with a nice home-recorded, lo-fi gimmick.
